CALS-ISU Cedar Rapids Partnership

About the program

Iowa State University and the City of Cedar Rapids have created a unique public-private partnership to foster increased interactions between the College of Agriculture and Life Science, students from Cedar Rapids, and the Cedar Rapid’s agricultural, food and bioprocessing industries. The purposes of the cooperation and collaboration between ISU and the City of Cedar Rapids are as follows:  

  • to establish programs that inform and engage the Cedar Rapids school systems and community colleges with degree programs offered through the ISU College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. 
  • to inform and engage the Cedar Rapids school systems and community colleges about scholarship opportunities including the Dolezal Scholarship.  
  • to establish collaborations among ISU, Cedar Rapids, and the food and bioprocessing industries that create educational programs and internships to enhance workforce development. 
  • to increase awareness of and facilitate collaborations with the educational, research and outreach capacities of ISU and the College of Agriculture and Life Science with Cedar Rapids and the bioprocessing industries.
